Welcome to the Website of the Anglican Church of St James The Great, Thorley, Bishop's Stortford. If you are interested in visiting or joining us look in 'What's On' for events that are coming up, or 'Our Services' where you will find details of how to arrange a Wedding, Funeral or Christening/Baptism at St. James the Great, as well as our regular services.

There is an emphasis on fellowship within the church. In 'Pastoral' you will find details of our many groups offering opportunities to pray together, study the Bible and share good & trying times. The 'Community' section describes the ways we work with local people providing practical help and support. 'About Us' describes the people and place which make St. James' the Great, its leadership, location and history. To find out more about our beliefs as Anglicans, or the Anglican Church's thoughts on various ethical issues confronting our society today, click on the Church of England logo.

If you come to a service, please ask the sidesmen for our 'Welcome Pack', or if you come to the 10.30am service at the St. Barnabas Centre on a Sunday morning, visit the manned 'Welcome Desk' afterwards. The St. Barnabas Centre ('The Barn') is the converted barn adjacent to the Church building. We look forward to meeting you.
