First of all, huge thanks to the Bicharas for their work and dedication in coordinating the Children’s groups until their move to Singapore last summer.
We took over coordinating the groups in September and have had an exciting couple of terms – building on the strengths of the current system and implementing a few changes.
One of the main features has been to reintroduce collective worship for all groups (Scramblers to Pathfinders) as they leave the service. We’ve used a mixture of old and new songs and added a fair amount of ‘air guitar’! Beverley Cheeseman works with us in this. We try and encourage some prayerful response from the children and would really value your prayers as we work on ways to help the children develop their relationship with God.
Other new events have included themed workshops, games sessions, family breakfast (the next one is due on the last Sunday in June). We led the All-age worship in November and will be leading another in June.
There is a fantastic team of leaders and helpers working with the children of St James. It is a real privilege to work with such a dedicated bunch. Naturally, people’s circumstances change and we are constantly seeking new people to join the team. Please consider whether God may be calling you to come on board!
Finally, thank you so much for the prayers and encouragement we have had from so many of the Church family. Please do continue to keep praying that we can know what exciting plans God has for the young people of our Church.
