Communications Group 2007

It is recognised that there is a significant overlap in responsibilities of the Outreach and Communications Groups, and so joint meetings were held as appropriate.

The monthly magazine ‘In Touch’ was last issued in April 2007. Following a review, it was agreed there was a need for information to be communicated within the Parish family. To this end it was agreed that quarterly magazines would be produced and these have subsequently been branded ‘Get Connected!’

The web is increasingly used as an information channel. It was noted that there is a web site churchnearyou.com that assists people in finding churches. A link to our own web site has been made.

Our own web site has been redesigned and the content is currently being updated. A new team of volunteers will be sought to keep the site up-to-date, however the web master (David Essien) relies on individual groups to own their content and keep this fresh and accurate.

Notices during services have been increasing. The white board in the SBC and now the screens should help in reducing the time taken in giving out notices in the SBC. This issue is less of a problem during services in the Church.

The Easter 2007 newsletter had been well received and it was agreed that it would be useful to provide information to all homes in the Parish three times a year – in time for Easter, Summer and Christmas.
