In June, Rev Ann Kosla, Pam Wheeler and Jan Dean attended the General Meeting in Liverpool Cathedral, and it was a memorable experience for them. In July, we had our very popular Safari supper for members and friends. We served ‘Pimms’ at Naomi & Charles’ wedding (Tara’s daughter). In August, members celebrated Mary Sumner Day with a coffee morning by spending time in fellowship and raising funds for MU projects. Margaret Laskey sadly died after a brief illness.
Our international taster evening in September was supported by friends and members, and we all had a most wonderful time tasting and sampling the various dishes from different countries. Donations were made to a Children’s Charity based in Kenya.
In October we enjoyed a quiet day in Stebbing (village church), hosted by Gillian Warren, followed by afternoon walk in very beautiful gardens, and refreshing tea and cakes in the Warrens lovely home. Mary Howard led another quiet evening in November.
As a group we have active fellowship time in prayer and support for one another, and have supported Women’s World Day of Prayer, Lady Day and the Wave of Prayer in the Bishop’s Stortford Deanery. Members have supported other social events in the Parish.
We welcome new members who would like to be a part of an organisation concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and family life.
