This year we have successfully completed 20 projects (19 in-house) thanks to our small team and other volunteers.
The biggest jobs were –
Complete refurbishment of Thorley Christian Centre
New heating system in Emmaus Centre
TV Screens, upgrade lighting and new sound system in SBC
Painting outside of SBC
A major reduction of hedging height in church yard
The greatest benefits are –
Cost savings of around £33,000
Increased security lighting around buildings
More attractive lighting and 30% higher lighting level in church
As a result of the effort and investment to provide safe, comfortable and attractive buildings, by utilising modern control systems and low energy lamps our electrical consumption has decreased by 3000 watts and with a few further changes we could reduce by a further 1000 watts.
We are thankful to have such lovely premises, which are well used. They do, however need considerable care and maintenance and by using our in-house expertise and commitment of even a few willing persons our costs can be kept to a minimum.
