Following the presentation made at last year’s APCM, the Strategy Group has met regularly and the following actions undertaken:
The vision and mission statements are displayed prominently in all our buildings.
In June, July and October we held whole church communication meetings to enable questions to be asked and for us to receive feedback form the APCM presentation. Following these sessions, a question & answer booklet was produced to ensure everyone had access to the same information. Many things were still evolving and therefore some questions were not fully answered.
Chris Carr agreed to undertake the role of Group Co-ordinator for a period of 2 years.
The role of Group Leaders was discussed and an initial group of individuals, most already leading groups, was identified.
In October, Bob, Maureen, Margaret, Chris, Di Griffiths and Paul Martin attended a ‘Purpose Driven’ day conference. The information presented was well received and helped identify some of the things Group Leaders needed to be understand.
Following the second set of whole church communication meetings, a letter was sent to all church members providing an update. Included with these letters was a small card on which the vision and mission were printed.
During November 2007 and January 2008 the first round of Leader training, ‘Hosting Life Together’ was held.
