Prayer

Prayer underlies everything we do at St James'.

Private Prayer

St James’ Church is open weekdays following the service of Morning Prayer through to late afternoon.

Morning Prayer

Every weekday morning, a small group of people meet in the church at 9.15am to say the service of Morning Prayer. They study the day's bible readings, pray for people in the parish who have asked for prayer, and for members of the Parish family. Everyone is prayed for about once every fortnight. People who live and work in the parish are also prayed for by road on a rota basis. This is a trusting time when anything can be shared in confidence. All are welcome.

Prayer Ministry

This is offered between the 9:00 and 10:30 Sunday morning services, during the administration of Communion at 10:30 service and at other events such as the monthly Prayer & Praise evening services. This ministry is offered for anyone who feels that they would benefit from the power of prayer.

Prayer Chain

This is a small team of people who will offer prayers during times of need. Contact is made by telephone direct to a member of the Prayer Chain who in turn contacts other members. This service is totally confidential to the team and the Rector. Contacts: Joan Abbotson 01279 655996, John Clark 01279 506306)
