Confirmation

Confirmation is another key rite of the Church.

The church runs an informal course for its confirmation candidates. All those wishing to be confirmed are encouraged to attend an Alpha Course.

The Confirmation service is normally held with neighbouring parishes; and is led by the Bishop of Hertford or the Bishop of St Albans. During the service, candidates, who must all have been baptised, make their public profession of faith. The Bishop then lays his hands on each candidate's head and prays for the annointing of the Holy Spirit. The service continues with a celebration of Holy Communion and the newly confirmed receive their first communion.

After the service, the church family often celebrates with a bring and share buffet.

Please call the Church Office if you are considering confirmation.
