The Marriage Course is a very practical course designed to give every married couple the tools to build a strong, healthy and lifelong marriage. It is based on the course devised by Holy Trinity Brompton in London.
Over seven evenings couples talk to each other in total privacy about: recognising each other’s needs, learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurt, knowing how to make each other feel loved, relating to parents and in-laws, good sex, making time for each other and having fun together.
There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. The setting is welcoming, relaxing and unthreatening.
What’s involved? Each evening begins with a meal. There is then a talk or video shown followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple via an exercise done as an individual and as a couple.
Who is it for? The Marriage Course is for every married couple who want to build a strong and lasting relationship, including those in the first five years of marriage, those at a challenging stage in their marriage, e.g. the birth of a child, those struggling with issues in their marriage, and those who are looking to enhance their marriage. The course is based on christian principles but is suitable for any couple with or without a christian faith.
What will it cost? The cost is £55 per couple, which covers the course manual and meals.
